Dear Veterinary Surgeon,

Good news! You no longer have to buy expensive operating theatre lights

As a practising veterinary surgeon, I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the heavy, expensive and hot traditional operating theatre lights. I do not have a reinforced high ceiling in my operating theatre.

To solve this problem I teamed up with a Bill Griffiths a bioengineer and together we have made an exciting new range of operating lights using the latest LED technology.

Our lights are true low cost lighting both in the installation and running costs. They are cheaper and easier to install than conventional lights. They are ideal for self-installation. No reinforcement of ceiling or walls is needed.

They are cheaper to run than conventional operating lights. Your electricity bill will be lower. They have a lower carbon footprint so are better for the environment. They are ultra low maintenance as the LEDs last up to 50,000 hours so there is no bulb changing.

The lights can function as Emergency Lighting when used with an uninterruptible power supply for up to 18 hours, thus demonstrating how efficient and economical they are. They can even be run from a 24v battery

The equivalent light temperature is 5,600 Kelvin, which is similar to daylight. There is no ultraviolet light or infrared light and therefore no heat in the beam.

The lights can be wall or ceiling mounted. Long-arm (maneuverable up to 2m radius) and Short-arm (maneuverable up to 1.2m radius) versions are available. An autoclavable handle is provided for the surgeon’s use.
